URGENT: Contact your reps about HB2294 & SB903

SB 903 has unfortunately passed the General Assembly and now goes to the Governor of Virginia Glenn Youngkin’s desk. We’ve already posted a follow-up to this post. Please call and/or email the governor and tell him that as it is written now, SB903 will kill the entire non intoxicating hemp wellness product industry in Virginia. This will effect small businesses and family farmers the most. Ask for this bill to be amended. Thank you!
URGENT CALL TO ACTION:
We need to let our elected officials know how we feel and we need to protect Virginia agriculture. We can stop this unnecessary overreach, but we need your help NOW! The hemp industry wants sensible regulation, but these draconian bills are contrary to the agricultural spirit of Virginia.
Please email/call all 6 conferees below and let them know you oppose any artificial mg caps that will ban (non-intoxicating) full-spectrum hemp products and force us to include toxic bittering agents in topicals.
What to tell them:
- HB2294 & SB903 will ban (non-intoxicating) full-spectrum hemp products by placing 2mg package caps and requiring the addition of bittering agents in topicals. Ask for these bills to be greatly amended or if not then voted down.
- Delta 8 and Delta 10 and other intoxicating edibles are already banned under the 2022 budget bill. VDACS already has the authority to remove these intoxicating products from shelves.
- Pure CBD Isolate has an extremely low agricultural value. Virginia Farmers cannot compete in a hemp industry where Zero-THC is required for consumer products.
- This action will put hundreds of Virginia farmers and small businesses out of business on day one.
- IMPORTANT: When contacting your own reps: Include your address in your email! This will increase the chances of them reading and considering your message.
